1. Why should I hire a Professional Organizer?

Because you deserve it.

2. Can’t I just do it myself?

Yes, and I encourage you to do so. Organization, in its most simplistic form, involves two acts: deciding whether or not to keep something and deciding where to put it. If you can do this, you can organize your whole home. However, if you feel overwhelmed, are constantly “rebounding,” or just don’t know where to start, I am here to help.

3. What are your rates?

$300 for four hours. You may add A La Carte Hours for $75 / hour to see projects to completion. Get the details here.

4. What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards (American Express, Discover, Master Card, and Visa). Payment is due before each session. A La Carte hours will be due after our session. 

5. What areas do you service?

I service all areas located within St. Louis and St. Louis County. If you live outside these areas, and still want my service, I require an additional fee.

6. What is your cancelation and missed appointment policy?

A $44 booking fee is required to secure your appointment and will be applied to our session together. I allow a one-time cancelation for every appointment booked. This means, if you book an appointment, you can reschedule it once at no charge with 48 hours notice. If you need to reschedule less than 48 hours before your appointment, there is an additional $44 service fee. 

Cancelations significantly affect my schedule and the schedules with whom I work. Due to my ever-increasing demand, and to be available to my committed clients, I am unable to accommodate multiple cancellations. 

All appointments will start at the scheduled time. Being 30 or more minutes late is considered a missed appointment, and forfeits your appointment.  

7. Are packages refundable?

Investment Packages are NON REFUNDABLE and expire six months after purchase. If more than one organizer is present during the session (done only on request) hours will be deducted from your package based on hours worked PER organizer.

8. How long does it take to complete each project?

Each project varies according to factors such as level of involvement, size, and complexity. The biggest variable is how quickly you make decisions. I will do my best to streamline the process but the faster you recognize whether or not an item serves you, the quicker the project will go.

9. Will you make all the decisions and completely organize my home (or business) for me?

No. My mission is to give you the tools to maintain your home or business once it’s been organized so you’ll never need another Professional Organizer again (not a very good business model is it?). I believe by doing everything for you I’m simply setting you up to rebound in the future.

That said, once the editing process is complete I am happy to finish the organizing portion for you if you need to leave for any reason (note: I was a Captain in the Army and held a Top Secret security clearance—think of it as a $250,000 background check).     

10. Why do you organize by category?

I am the only Professional Organizer in St. Louis who organizes by category. 

I am a strong believer in the KonMari method. After organizing my own home this way, I am convinced that sorting by category is the best way to declutter. By gathering all your similar items, you will be able to easily identify shopping patterns, redundant items, and storage concerns. We can discuss this more in detail when you contact me

11. What sets you apart from your competition?

I don't see other Professional Organizers as competition. The way I look at it, we all want the same thing—for you to live a life focused on what is most important to you (and not the chaos that accompanies clutter). The most important thing you can do when hiring a P.O. is to interview several and pick the one you feel most comfortable and at ease around. Make sure whoever you hire is a good fit for YOU. 

12. Do I have to invest in new storage systems?

Nope. I prefer to use things my clients already own – the creative part of my brain loves finding innovative storage solutions. However, if you are looking to update a space or simply don’t have what you need, I am happy to point you in the right direction.

13. Will my information remain confidential?

You bet. All client information is confidential and I only use proprietary information with the permission of each client. If the government can entrust me with its secrets, you can too.
